Your mission:

We are looking for an experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to provide operational and strategic support to our R&D site in Romania.
In this role, you will be the primary HR contact on-site and will work closely with the Head of People & Culture at headquarters as well as the General Manager. While you will not have overall disciplinary responsibility for the location, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, responsibility, and creative freedom within your area of expertise.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Independently managing all People & Culture matters for our Romanian R&D site
  • Advising managers and employees with a business-oriented perspective while balancing employee interests and corporate goals
  • Managing the entire employee lifecycle
  • Ensuring compliance with Romanian labor law and translating it into pragmatic, internationally compatible solutions
  • Working closely with the Head of People & Culture and the General Manager, as well as proactively coordinating issues with broader implications
  • Making independent decisions in day-to-day operations
  • Collaborating with external payroll service providers, including reviewing content
  • Independently conducting personnel cost planning, analyses, and reports (primarily via Excel)
  • Further developing efficient HR processes and structures
  • Proactively identifying and addressing risks, dependencies, and specific challenges in an international context
  • Serving as a bridge between local market and legal knowledge and global HR principles

Your profile:

  • Several years of experience as a (senior) HR Business Partner / HR Team Lead / HR Generalist in Romania; experience at various companies is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of Romanian labor law and a pragmatic approach to its application
  • Experience working with external payroll providers, including professional classification assessment
  • Very good Excel skills, a knack for numbers, and an understanding of business operations (especially personnel costs)
  • Ideally, experience in a technical environment or R&D
  • Strong sense of ownership combined with excellent coordination and transparency skills
  • Ability to proactively identify local nuances, risks, and implications and translate them clearly into the international context
  • Independent, structured work style, as well as a high degree of reliability and trustworthiness
  • Confident handling of feedback and willingness to engage in constructive dialogue
  • Hands-on mentality, even when performing administrative tasks
  • Very good knowledge of Romanian and English; German is a plus
